Louise is Special Counsel for our Family Law team.

Experience

Background

Louise has over a decade of experience working with families of all configurations and life stages to resolve the legal issues arising from separation.

She has a particular interest in financial matters, including valuation and management of businesses across multiple sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, retail and hospitality, agriculture, and construction. This has involved working with all business structures from sole traders and start-ups to complex corporate structures and trusts. Her work has also involved a focus on drafting comprehensive Financial Agreements to protect assets and clarify financial expectations both before and after separation.

She brings a practical approach to negotiating appropriate care arrangements in the best interests of children post-separation and is a firm advocate for fair spousal and child support arrangements based on each family’s individual circumstances.

She guides clients through the process of divorce or separation with sensitivity, calm, and detailed knowledge.

Louise has a strong academic background which informs her practice. She achieved first class honours for her English Literature thesis on Margaret Atwood’s dystopian fiction. She has also completed a Masters of Law at the University of Sydney with a particular focus on Family Law and Equity. She has published and presented papers on topics relevant to her practice, both interstate and internationally and was recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a Family Law Rising Star in 2017.

Louise joined us at MDW in May 2024.
