Experience

Background

Tanya is experienced in private client law, specialising in estate planning, administration and related disputes and litigation.

She prepares high quality estate plans for a broad spectrum of clients and issues, including for high net worth individuals with complex affairs, working closely with clients and their accounting and financial advisers to develop bespoke documents to suit their unique circumstances. 

Conducts and advises on the administration of both small and large complex estates and provides advice to executor or beneficiary clients. 

Her experience in disputes is varied and includes testator family maintenance/family provision claims, other estate related litigation such as removal of executor and claims and advice regarding superannuation death benefits. She is experienced in probate applications including where contentious, such as informal or lost wills.  

Tanya is interested and experienced in tax, superannuation and trusts.

Admitted to practice in 2004 and has worked at specialist succession planning and private client firms, including de Groots wills & estate lawyers, EY (Ernst & Young) and former boutique tax law firm Norton & Smailes.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Law & Bachelor of Commerce degree (accounting)

Law Institute of Victoria, including committee member of Succession Law Committee

Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners – Technician

The Tax Institute – Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA)
