The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards 2024 took place February 8th on the Gold Coast.
MDW were elated to see many of our clients take home awards for the following categories:
Talk to Me
Causeway Films produced the horror film “Talk to Me”. Directed by Danny and Michael Philippou, the film was a resounding success and won eight AACTA Awards most including:
- Award for best Direction in Film: Talk to Me – Danny Philippou, Michael Philippo (Causeway Films)
- Award for Best Film: Talk to Me – Samantha Jennings, Kristina Ceyton (Causeway Films)
The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart
Made Up Stories, Amazon Studios and Fifth Season produced Amazon miniseries “The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart”, which won four AACTA Awards including:
- Award for Best Miniseries: The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart – Jodi Matterson, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Barbara Gibbs, Sarah Lambert, Glendyn Ivin – Made Up Stories, Amazon Studios, Fifth Season (Amazon Prime Video)
- Award for Best Cinematography in Television: The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart – Episode 1 – Sam Chiplin
The Newsreader
Werner Film produced the drama series “The Newsreader”, which won five AACTA Awards including:
- Award for Best Drama Series: The Newsreader – Joanna Werner, Michael Lucas
- Award for Best Direction in Drama or Comedy: The Newsreader – Episode 4 – Emma Freeman
