Electronic Certificates of Title for Victorian properties will replace paper certificates

Electronic Certificates of Title for Victorian properties will replace paper certificates

The change to electronic certificates of title is a key factor in modernising land registration processes

On 2 May 2024, the Victorian Land Registry announced that it would stop issuing paper Certificates of Title for all transactions after 3 August 2024.

From 3 August 2024, all transactions within Victoria’s property market will exclusively use electronic Certificates of Title.

This decision from the Registrar marks a significant transition in the realm of property law and current Victorian conveyancing practices. It signals a pivotal moment in modernising and streamlining land registration processes.
